REAL Program
Tracks to Tomorrow

The Saltbush Reconnection, Employment and Learning (REAL) Program – Tracks to Tomorrow supports First Nations people aged 15 years and over, transitioning from custody back into the community.

Our program uses a strengths-based, trauma-informed and a culturally safe approach that recognises each participant’s experiences, resilience and potential.

The program:

  • supports participants across pre-release, release and post-release
  • provides intensive, relationship-based mentoring and practical support
  • strengthens pathways to education, training and employment
  • encourages cultural reconnection, personal growth and community connection
  • access counselling support to support your wellbeing and personal goals
  • works alongside participants to build stability, confidence and self-belief
  • collaborates with employers, services and community organisations to create meaningful opportunities

By walking alongside individuals who may have faced complex and long-standing barriers, the Saltbush REAL Program helps participants reconnect with opportunity and move towards a stronger future for themselves, their families and their community.

Building confidence, skills and pathways for your future

The Saltbush REAL Program is built on relationship-based support that responds to the needs, goals and circumstances of each participant.

A dedicated Mentor and program Counsellor are the primary point of connection throughout the participant’s journey.

Through mentoring, tailored workshops, practical assistance and wellbeing support, the program supports participants to:

  • build confidence and independence
  • strengthen readiness for education, training and work
  • reconnect with family, community and culture
  • develop practical life skills and self-awareness
  • focus on positive long-term outcomes
  • build sustainable habits that support mental, emotional and physical wellbeing
