At first glance, Venetta may come across as a shy and soft-spoken young woman, but spend a little time with her and you quickly discover a depth of knowledge, insight and quiet confidence that truly sets her apart.
Over the past few weeks in the program, Venetta has shown remarkable growth. Her engagement has steadily increased and she actively participates in all activities, demonstrating a genuine interest in learning and connecting with others. While she may not always be the loudest voice in the room, her contributions are thoughtful and grounded in a strong sense of understanding.
One of the most inspiring aspects of Venetta’s journey has been her connection to culture and Country. During group walks, she often shares her knowledge about different trees, bush medicine and the land around her. These moments not only highlight her intelligence but also enrich the learning experience for everyone involved, creating opportunities for others to listen, learn and appreciate her perspective.
Program Trainer, Nora Rapana shares, “What stands out most, is Venetta’s natural ability to support those around her. She consistently shows kindness and patience toward other participants, offering encouragement and guidance in a way that makes people feel comfortable and included. This has not gone unnoticed.”
Recently, Venetta stepped into the role of Team Leader within her housekeeping group. In this position, she has demonstrated fairness, responsibility and strong communication skills, clearly explaining instructions and ensuring her teammates feel supported. Her leadership style reflects who she is: calm, respectful and quietly confident.
Venetta’s progress has also been supported by her mentor, Mandy, whose guidance and encouragement have played an important role in her development. This partnership highlights the value of strong mentorship in helping individuals build confidence and reach their potential.
As the face-to-face component of the program approaches its conclusion on May 7, Venetta is preparing to celebrate her graduation, an important milestone that reflects her hard work and dedication. However, this is not the end of her journey. Following graduation, Venetta will continue to receive ongoing support, ensuring she remains connected and empowered as she takes her next steps.
Venetta’s story is a powerful reminder that leadership doesn’t always have to be loud. Sometimes, it’s the quiet strength, deep knowledge and genuine care for others that leave the most lasting impact.
We’re incredibly proud of the progress Venetta has made and look forward to seeing what she achieves next.
